Experience

I care about my students and it shows. During my 10 years experience as a Teaching and Tutor, I have been highly acclaimed by staff and students. Students have consistently sought me out for subsequent classes. In 1994 I was awarded the honor of being recognize as "One of America's Best 100 Teachers." I am profoundly grateful for this recognition. I have taught at: University of Houston, Department of Technology - Math, Calculus and Differential Equations. Houston Community College, Department of English - English Composition I and II, American Literature I and II, English Literature I and II, Computer Lab, Students with Special Needs, Theatre. San Jacinto College, Department of English - English Composition I and II. Spring Branch Independent School District, Substitute for Memorial High School, Northbrook High School, Spring Wood High School and Stratford High School - All subjects taught at high school, with particular emphasis on Advanced Placement and Test Preparation. Northbrook High School repeatedly requested me. For those of you who don't know the school, of the four high schools in the district, Northbrook is the one located in the most disadvantaged area of the district. Communication to me is key. I instill in students an understanding of the subject material. As a result, students' ability to grasp material, and pass exams and tests is greatly increased. Learning becomes a rewarding experience and allows students to interact better with their peers. I want to build in every student a feeling of confidence in themselves. I work hard to have students successfully pass tests and exams since I think it is through this means that students will succeed in life. Nothing succeeds like success.
